This week I deliver to you, 14 year old Zandra of Zandra Beauty in Buffalo, NY. She is rockin' the young entrepreneurial world with her funky, fun and fresh beauty products targeted to inspire and support young women. She is an amazing young lady and business woman. LOVE HER! Check out her story.

Q: Tell me about Zandra Beauty and how you got started?
Well, I started my business when I was 9 years old kind of by accident. I was obsessed with lip balm and my dad stopped buying it for me, it was terrible. So I started researching how to make it and I got my mom to help me order the ingredients. I ended up making it so well that people wanted to buy it. Since then I have graduated from a few entrepreneurial training programs and I have gotten pretty used to being the only kid in the room.

Q: What is your favorite aspect about being a small business owner?
I love that I am in control of what happens. I get to decide what direction my business goes in, I can be creative and I get to be the boss.

Q: What should a customer expect from Zandra Beauty when making a purchase?
Customers can expect to receive a pretty little box of really funky, inspirational, motivational and carefully hand crafted skincare products. When you buy from Zandra you are also making a contribution to girls education. 10% of net profits are given to support girls education programs in the Buffalo community as well as in Africa.

Q: What are some of your best selling products?
Customers really like the Bamboo Black Soap because it is infused with Bamboo Charcoal; making it really great as a face wash, body wash and a shampoo. The Big Balms are really popular too because they can be used as a lip balm or a lotion bar with any where dryness attacks:)

Q: Who or what has been the biggest inspiration for you?
My mom and my Nana. They are both really strong and creative women. I have learned so much by watching them create the life they want to live while improving the lives of others around them.

Q: Do you have any special events or offers coming up?
Yes, I have lots of really cool things coming up. I am working on building a few youth business programs for teens locally and beyond. I really don't want to limit myself, I am a creative person and I have a ton more that I want to do. I will be launching a ambassador program, hosting live chats and working to promote other teen small business along the way. I want to build a tribe of empowered teen girls that give back and support their communities.
