A New Website, New Spring Candle Collections and a New Reason to Relax

by Anne Marie Esposito, President and Founder, Sparklefly Candle Company, Inc.

Last week we launched our brand new website, featuring new scent collections like Sweet Grass and Lilac, a whole new look and feel, improved product offerings and a completely re-vamped About Us page.  This was cause for celebration! We were so excited to finally show everything we were working on for months behind the scenes.

We worked on hours of photo-shoots and product testing to bring it all to you in a cohesive and complete visual way.

At the same time, I attended the most intense business training through Lucky Brand University.  8 weeks of intense learning, life-changing moments and networking with some of the best up and coming brands in the business (I will be introducing these AMAZING women to you in the near future through this blog.)

My family was also hitting some important milestones, my son celebrated his 5th birthday (WOW, where does the time go?), my mother was recovering from injuries due to her battle with Alzheimer's,my daughter's soccer schedule was back in full swing and my health was wavering.

Being a working mom and caregiver; I realized that through all of these joyous moments, as well as the stressful ones, and in an effort to keep it all together and be the best I can be, I wasn't taking the time to recharge, relax and de-stress.  Sometimes, you just need to take a step back a moment to breathe in and out and just BE.

That's when I turned to why I started making candles in the first place.  You see, I live my life through scent, whether it's the happy scent of Margarita, the sexy scent of By the Fire or the tranquil scent of Lavender Heaven.  I not only use candles to decorate but I use them to create a mood and the mood I needed was a comforting, snuggle up under a fluffy throw blanket, in my yoga pants, with a good book, a glass of wine and shut out the world, mood.  Lighting that candle sets the ritual to enjoy that experience using all of my senses; the sight of the flame, the feeling of the warm blanket, the scent of the candle, the silence of the room and the taste of that glass of wine. This was exactly the peace of mind I needed, so tomorrow I can come back and be my best again.

I would love to know how you find time for you, what is your favorite way to unwind, how do you find peace?
